Third Time's a Charm!

My wife Denise and I (Dennis) have made two starts on America's Great Loop. The Great Loop is a 6,000 mile journey by boat around the eastern third of the United States. Our first attempt was suspended at the Gulf of Mexico when our workshop at home caught fire and was a total loss. Over the next year we rebuilt the workshop and prepared for our second attempt which began last October (2025). This second attempt was abruptly stopped when our ECU (electronic control unit) quit working.  It took five months to get a new ECU out of Europe, through the US Coast Guard, and ultimately installed and tested. Now with our boat repaired and running smoothly, we're making our third a final attempt to complete "the loop".

We departed at noon today from our home port in Aurora, Indiana.

We enjoyed a quick four hour trip to Turtle Creek Harbor Marina in Florence, Indiana.

We then rode our bikes from the marina to nearby Belterra Casino for dinner and a chance for Denise to check her luck at the video slots......her luck came up short this time.
